Ritchie Bros. is a trademark of its owner. Addresses as published by the auction company.
Ritchie Bros. uses our system for the B13.
The export declaration of each lot is prepared and kept in the CargoMax system, where Ritchie Bros. manages it too.
- Filed by lot, invoice and buyer number, so every document points to the same unit
- B13 ready before pickup: the export paperwork does not hold the unit at the yard
- The same data from yard to Santo Domingo: release, B13, bill of lading and Dominican entry match the auction invoice
- Several lots, one file, even when they come from different sales
Send us your buyer number and lot numbers once you have won; we take it from there.
Lots we ship from the auction to the island.
Most units are trucks. The machinery that cannot drive aboard goes on a Mafi trailer or a flat rack.
- Most common
Tractor units
Day cabs and sleepers, often bought in pairs and shipped piggyback to save a RORO slot.
- Utility
Boom and bucket trucks
Cranes and aerial devices for builders and power contractors. We measure the boom at rest before booking.
- Construction
Mixers and dump trucks
Concrete mixers and tandem dumps for job sites and quarries across the Dominican Republic.
- Freight
Box trucks and vans
Dry vans and reefer bodies for distributors in Santo Domingo and Santiago.
- Machinery
Loaders, backhoes and excavators
Wheeled units drive on; tracked ones travel on a Mafi trailer or a flat rack.
- Towed
Trailers and lowboys
Flatbeds, lowboys and tank trailers, empty or carrying another lot from the same sale.
From the winning bid to the port of Santo Domingo.
Send us the lot number before you bid and you know the landed cost before the hammer falls.
Before you bid
Send the lot number or the listing link. We check the model year against the Dominican limit, take the size from the listing and quote the pickup, the port and the ocean freight.
Pay and send your buyer number
Once the auction invoice is paid, send it with your buyer number and lot numbers. The B13 is prepared in our system, which Ritchie Bros. uses too, and the ownership documents follow.
Collection at the yard
Our carrier collects inside the removal window: driven on transit plates when the unit runs, on a lowboy or a float when it does not.
Export and border
We file the Canadian export declaration, move the unit in bond to Newark and present the ownership papers to U.S. Customs before loading.
RORO to Santo Domingo
About 8 days at sea. Our appointed agent in Santo Domingo clears the unit with the DGA and hands it over at the terminal or delivers it.
Six checks that save a lot from getting stuck.
A unit the Dominican Republic will not register is a unit you cannot ship.
- Model year: trucks over five tons up to fifteen years old; lighter units may face a stricter limit
- Steering: right-hand-drive units are not admitted
- Height of booms, mixers and cabs with stacks, which decides the deck or the flat rack
- Loose parts: buckets, forks and attachments are secured to the unit or shipped apart
- Ownership papers the auction will issue, and how long they take to arrive
- Pickup location and removal deadline printed on the lot
Three legs, quoted together.
Every lot gets one written quote with the three legs itemised.
Yard to port
Quoted per unit by distance, size and whether it runs. From the Montreal and Toronto yards the unit goes to Newark; from Orlando, to Jacksonville.
Export filing and bond
A fixed charge per unit for the Canadian export declaration and the U.S. transit bond, or for U.S. title validation when the yard is in the United States.
RORO ocean freight
Priced by the size of the unit. Our example rates for trucks to Santo Domingo show the range; Dominican duties and port charges are paid on arrival.

How does CargoMax work with Ritchie Bros.?
Ritchie Bros. uses the CargoMax system to manage the B13 export declarations of the lots our clients buy, filed by lot, invoice and buyer number. The paperwork is ready when the unit leaves the yard, and we handle the transport to the Dominican Republic as an independent freight forwarder.
Which Ritchie Bros. yards do you collect from?
Any yard in Canada or the United States. Most of our Dominican shipments start at Mont-Saint-Hilaire near Montreal and at Bolton and Amaranth near Toronto, followed by Debert in Nova Scotia, Nisku near Edmonton and Davenport near Orlando.
How quickly does the unit have to leave the yard?
The auction sets a removal deadline and charges storage after it. Send us the paid invoice and the release as soon as you have them, so the pickup is booked inside that window.
I bought it online and it is not at an auction yard. Can you still collect it?
Yes. Items sold online often stay at the seller’s location. We collect from that address in Canada or the U.S. and route the unit to the right RORO port.
What does it cost to ship a Ritchie Bros. truck to Santo Domingo?
Three parts: the move from the yard to the port, quoted per unit by distance and size; the export filing and transit bond; and the RORO ocean freight, which for a tractor unit from Newark ran about USD 2,700 to 3,700 in 2026. Dominican duties and port charges come on top. Each lot gets a written quote.
Can several lots travel together?
Yes. Units bought at the same sale are collected together where possible, booked on the same vessel and cleared in Santo Domingo by our agent on one file.
Send the lot number. We send the landed cost.
Before the sale or after it: the yard, the lot and the destination in the Dominican Republic are enough for a written quote.
