Montreal for the Pacific, either one for the Caribbean.
The choice depends on the Guatemalan port and on which vessel leaves first. We compare both for every booking.

| Carriers on the board | One direct service, almost weekly | Several carriers, most weeks |

| Best when | The cargo goes to Guatemala City or the Pacific side | The cargo goes to the east and Halifax sails first |

What Ontario ships to Guatemala.
Manufacturers and distributors in the GTA are most of our Toronto files to Central America, along with families moving home.
Manufactured goods
Auto parts, plastics, packaging, electrical equipment and food products from plants in Mississauga, Brampton and Vaughan, in 20-foot or 40-foot containers.
Used equipment
Forklifts, generators and industrial machines, crated in a container or on a flat rack when they are too wide.
Trucks and buses
Units that drive go by road to Newark or Baltimore and sail RORO; the export report to the Canada Border Services Agency is filed before they leave Canada.

More on shipping to Guatemala.
Toronto to Guatemala, answered.
Do container ships sail from Toronto to Guatemala?
No. The services to Central America load in Montreal and Halifax, so a container from the GTA goes by rail to one of the two and sails from there. The rail leg is booked together with the ocean freight.
Montreal or Halifax: which is better for Guatemala?
For Puerto Quetzal on the Pacific, Montreal, because that is where the service calling Quetzal loads. For Santo Tomás de Castilla on the Caribbean, both work, and we pick the one whose next sailing gets your container there first.
How long does it take from Toronto to Guatemala?
Count a few days of rail to the port, then about three weeks at sea from Halifax to Santo Tomás, or three to five weeks from Montreal depending on the Guatemalan port. Your quote gives the full estimate from your door.
Can you deliver the container to my business in Mississauga or Brampton?
Yes. We drop the empty container in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and the rest of the GTA, you load it, and it goes to the rail terminal. Further in southern Ontario, ask us for the trucking.
How do I ship a car or a truck from Ontario to Guatemala?
By RORO: the unit is trucked to Newark or Baltimore and sails to Santo Tomás de Castilla. Before it leaves Canada, the vehicle and its ownership are reported to the Canada Border Services Agency at least 72 hours ahead. It can also go inside a 40-foot container by rail.
You have no office in Toronto. Who looks after my shipment?
Our head office in La Prairie, near Montreal, runs Ontario files from the quote to the arrival in Guatemala, by phone and email. The container comes to you and documents are signed electronically.
One quote covers the rail and the ocean.
