    Retired school buses

Bought at district auctions and dealers, driven to Newark and shipped RORO to start a second life on Guatemalan routes.

  • Pickups

    Pickups and SUVs

From the yard to Santo Tomás

Four steps for each unit.

  1. Purchase and release

Send us the year, make, model and VIN with the yard address. Once the unit is paid and released, we schedule the pickup.

  2. Title to U.S. Customs

The original title or a certified copy is presented to U.S. Customs at least 72 hours before loading, and we file the export information.

  3. Loading in Newark

The unit is driven aboard and lashed. You receive the bill of lading with the VIN of every unit.

  4. Clearance in Guatemala

The buyer’s customs broker clears the unit at Santo Tomás de Castilla on the DUCA declaration, with the NIT of the consignee.

Guatemala sets conditions on imported used vehicles that may differ at the time you ship. They must be confirmed with the customs broker at destination before you buy and when you book.

Questions

New York to Guatemala, answered.

How long does RORO take from Newark to Guatemala?

About two weeks from the Port of Newark to Santo Tomás de Castilla on the vessels on our board. Units loading earlier in the rotation, in Jacksonville or Baltimore, arrive on the same vessel.

Can you ship a used school bus to Guatemala?

Yes. Retired school buses are one of the most common units we ship to Guatemala. They go RORO, driven aboard in Newark; we need the title, the dimensions and the confirmation that the bus runs and brakes.

Can you collect a vehicle from an auction yard?

Yes. We pick up from auction yards in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania once the purchase is paid and the release is issued, and take the unit to the terminal in Newark.

What about salvage titles?

Salvage-title vehicles can be exported from the United States with the title presented to U.S. Customs. Whether the unit can be registered in Guatemala is a separate question: check it with the buyer’s customs broker before bidding.

Do you ship containers from New York to Guatemala?

Yes, on request. We quote full containers from the Port of New York and New Jersey case by case; the board on this page shows the RORO vessels, which are the regular service from Newark.

Can I handle everything in Spanish?

Yes. Our Newark office and our head office near Montreal both work in Spanish, from the quote to the documents for the broker in Guatemala.
