Questions

New York to the Dominican Republic, answered.

How long does RORO take from New York to the Dominican Republic?

The RORO vessels loading at the Port of Newark reach Santo Domingo in about 8 days. Add a few days before sailing for U.S. Customs to clear the title, and a few days in Santo Domingo for the release.

Do you pick up in the Bronx, Washington Heights or Paterson?

Yes. We collect cars and trucks anywhere in the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and northern New Jersey and bring them to the terminal in Newark. Full containers are dropped at your address for loading.

What does U.S. Customs need before my car sails?

The original title or a certified copy, presented at least 72 hours before loading, plus a bill of sale or proof of ownership and the owner’s ID. We file the export information for every vehicle and handle the title with Customs at the port.

Can my car be older than five years?

Passenger vehicles over five model years old cannot be registered in the Dominican Republic; for trucks over 5 tons the limit is fifteen years. These rules change, so check with us before you buy or ship.

Can I send a car and my belongings together?

Yes, inside a full 40-foot container: the car at the doors, household goods packed behind it, on one bill of lading to Rio Haina or Caucedo. By RORO, the car must travel empty except for its spare tire and tools.

Can I visit your Newark office?

Yes. We have a small office in Newark, New Jersey, where you can drop off documents and ask questions in Spanish or English. Bookings are confirmed by our head office near Montreal, so you can also do everything by phone and email.
