Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019Atlantique, il y a Santo Tomas de\u00a0Castilla et Puerto Barrios. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du Pacifique, il y a Puerto Quetzal, Puerto de San Jose et Champerico.<\/p>\n<p>Les principaux ports de cargo sont Puerto Quetzal, Puerto Barrios, et San Tomas de\u00a0Castilla. Les autres ports sont pour des activit\u00e9s r\u00e9cr\u00e9atives ou de p\u00eache, sauf pour San Jos\u00e9, qui est principalement utilis\u00e9 pour des envois de vrac liquide, incluant le p\u00e9trole et la m\u00e9lasse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Puerto Quetzal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Situ\u00e9 du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du Pacifique du Guatemala, Puerto Quetzal est le plus grand port maritime du Pacifique et est un emplacement de choix gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa proximit\u00e9 au canal de Panama. Il est \u00e0 100\u00a0km de la ville de Guatemala. Il est aussi tr\u00e8s populaire aupr\u00e8s des bateaux de croisi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Puerto Quetzal est un immense point d\u2019exportation de sucre et est le terminal de chargement de sucre le plus efficace d\u2019Am\u00e9rique centrale. Il comporte aussi un terminal de gaz liquide, un terminal de charbon et un terminal de bateaux de croisi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Puerto Barrios:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Situ\u00e9 sur la c\u00f4te Atlantique du Guatemala, Puerto Barrios est le plus vieux et le plus petit des deux ports de l\u2019Atlantique. Il fut le principal port de l\u2019Atlantique jusqu\u2019en 1976 alors qu\u2019un important tremblement de terre a d\u00e9truit la ville et que le port de Santo Tomas de\u00a0Castilla fut construit. Depuis, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconstruit en port moderne. Originellement construit par la United Fruit Company, il se trouve \u00e0 295\u00a0km de la ville de Guatemala. Il fut construit pour \u00eatre un terminal ferroviaire pour connecter le pays avec le commerce des \u00c9tats-Unis, et est toujours un centre important pour l\u2019exportation des fruits et l\u00e9gumes, incluant Chiquita, Dole et Del Monte.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Santo Tomas de Castilla:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est le plus grand port Atlantique du Guatemala, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 295\u00a0km de la capitale et connect\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois par des autoroutes et des chemins de fer. Construit en 1976 apr\u00e8s le tremblement de terre qui a d\u00e9truit presque tout le port de Puerto Barrios \u00e0 proximit\u00e9, cette installation moderne s\u2019occupe non seulement de cargo, mais est aussi le principal port de bateaux de croisi\u00e8re qui visitent les ruines mayas de la r\u00e9gion.
